The Law of Kindness

Proverbs 31:26 says, “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

The Princess of God speaks with wisdom and kindness, abstaining from harsh words, critical or cutting words. This does those around her a world of good as they are rarely offended at what she has to say.

Mother Theresa was one such woman – she said that she would “rather make mistakes in kindness and compassion than work miracles in unkindness and hardness.”

A kind look, an act of compassion can be worth more that great miracles, to a person. Kindness matters.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Jesus says to Gabrielle Bossis in He & I “They say that God is all kindness, and He is. You be the same with Me. What a beautiful exchange! And how welcome each little thoughtful gesture will be…. You’ll understand later on.”

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

Kindness is to be especially emphasized with the community or family one lives with immediately – a woman with the law of kindness on her tongue does not simply exude kindness to strangers – she is kind to those she lives with first and foremost.
