Devotion to Your Guardian Angel

The Princess of God is devoted to her Guardian Angel; after Jesus, he is her best friend, and seeks every good for her, always interceding on her behalf with God.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

She prays often the Guardian Angel Prayer:

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom his love commits me here. Ever this day (or night) be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen

She doesn’t cause him sorrow by forgetting he is always there – she remembers that she has such a glorious companion at all times and gives him great joy by often asking for help in all her affairs!

When I entered the convent gate at Warsaw, the spirit disappeared. I thanked God for His goodness, that He gives us angels for companions. Oh, how little people reflect on the fact that they always have beside them such a guest, and at the same time a witness to everything! Remember, sinners, that you likewise have a witness to all your deeds. – The Diary of St. Faustina

The Princess of God has great consideration for her angel – out of the etiquette of a Princess and devotion, she does nothing in the presence of her angel that would be rude or sinful, or offensive to him. If she ever has the misfortune to forget he is there and upset him, she apologizes, not only to God but to her beloved angel as well! (:

Other prayers she prays frequently are the prayer to send her guardian angel to holy mass on any day that she cannot attend herself:

O HOLY ANGEL at my side,
Go to Church for me,
Kneel in my place, at Holy Mass,
Where I desire to be.

At Offertory, in my stead,
Take all I am and own,
And place it as a sacrifice
Upon the Altar Throne.

At Holy Consecration’s bell,
Adore with Seraph’s love,
My Jesus hidden in the Host,
Come down from Heaven above.

Then pray for those I dearly love,
And those who cause me grief,
That Jesus’ Blood may cleanse all hearts,
And suff’ring souls relieve.

And when the priest Communion takes,
Oh, bring my Lord to me,
That His sweet Heart may rest on mine,
And I His temple be.

Pray that this Sacrifice Divine,
May mankind’s sins efface;
Then bring me Jesus’ blessing home,
The pledge of every grace. Amen
